ピアニスト Wataru Sato/Gecko を中心に結成したインストルメンタルバンド“Gecko& Tokage Parade”。ジャズを貴重にポップス、ポストロック、ファンク、フュージョン、クラシックー多岐にわたるサウンドを独自のミクスチャー感覚で集約した和製ジャズシーン気鋭の存在として注目が集まっている。郷愁的で歌心あるピアノを主体としたオーセンティックなサウンドは中毒性抜群。

フルアルバムとしては約2年ぶりの今作『The Art of Tokage』は、突き抜ける疾走感と焦燥的なメロディのリフレインが印象的なメロディック×8ビートなジャズロック2Speed of Soundや、夜のドライブにぴったりなアーバンメロウなダンスチューン4Art、坂本龍一の名曲をカヴァーした5Thousand Knives、テクニカルなバンドアンサンブルと日本人的なメロディセンスが溶け合うスリリングでコンテンポラリーな今作のリードチューン8moon。また、7Innocence ではゲストヴォーカルにゲスの極み乙女。や Indigo la End 等のコーラスで活躍する佐々木みお氏が参加している。アーティスティックな彼らの魅力が惜しみなく発揮された情緒豊かな全10曲を収録。まさに彼らのコンセプトである“新世代のサウンドの追求”を体感するプログレッシブな作品が完成した。
